The day will be begin with a program entitled: Creating Spiritual Autobiographies in Partnership with Incarcerated Women: A Lehigh Valley Monthly Meeting Project.

In the spring and early summer of this year, several Lehigh Valley members and attenders participated in the writing of spiritual autobiographies, drawing on exercises in Dan Wakefield's book The Story of Your Life: Writing a Spiritual Autobiography. In addition, they shared poems, drawings, and portions of their autoriographies with incarcerated women at Pennsylvania's Muncy State Correctional Institution, communicating via U.S. Mail and/or the prison messaging system, and invited their partners to produce and share similar work. At this session, facilitated by Joyce Hinnefeld, participants will discuss this project, including the discoveries gleaned through writing their own spiritual autobiographies and through sharing stories and experiences with their incarcerated partners.

Joyce Hinnefeld, a member of Lehigh Valley Meeting, is the author of the short story collections Tell Me Everything and The Beauty of Their Youth and the novels In Hovering Flight and Stranger Here Below, along with other stories and essays. She is an Emerita Professor of English at Moravian University in Bethlehem, PA, where, before retiring in 2022, she taught writing classes featuring story exchanges with incarcerated people at the Northampton County Jail and Muncy State Correctional Institute.

After a lunch break, meeting for worship with attention to business will be held, where we will hear annual reports from Newtown and Plumstead meetings, Friends Village, The Peace Fair Committee, and the results of the most recent audit of our finances.
