Program Change
Mary Lou Quinlan is unable to attend due to illness
The new program will feature Karen Tibbals, a member of Quakertown Monthly Meeting and the former clerk of Rahway-Plainfield Monthly Meeting in Plainfield NJ, discussing issues related to her Quaker studies thesis topic: "Just Debt" – rules Quakers developed for borrowing money ethically – and how Quaker businesses practices may have influenced the early development of capitalism.
Karen holds both an MBA in Marketing from Rutgers University and an MA in Quaker studies from Earlham School of Religion. She was one of the co-founders of the Quakers and Business organization, which meets virtually monthly. She has also written a book, Persuade, Don't Preach: Restoring Civility Across the Political Divide, on how to use the latest psychology research to reach across the political divide.
There will be a Children’s Program conducted by Quakertown Friends.
Meeting for Worship will follow the program at 11:00 am. Please bring a brown bag lunch; there will be drinks and desserts supplied by the meeting. Meeting for Worship with Attention to Business will begin promptly at 1:00 pm; the advance documents are available here. We will hear reports from Newtown, Plumstead and Solebury Meetings, as well as from our Auditors, the Peace Fair Committee, Friends Village, and Bucks Food For Friends.
