Join Yardley Friends Meeting on Sunday, January 23 at 11:45 AM when they will welcome Nancy Martin and Pat McBee from Newtown Meeting, who will be speaking about their involvement with the Bucks County Interfaith Coalition for Refugee Resettlement (BCICRR). They will report on the work of BCICRR over the past five years with Syrian refugees and the expected arrival of Afghan refugees before the end of January. Bristol, Newtown, Plumstead and Yardley Meetings all have joined in this work. To get the zoom link email info@yardleyfriendsmeeting.org.

Bucks County Interfaith Coalition for Refugee Resettlement was founded in 2016 as an all-volunteer group working together to support two Syrian families. The coalition is made up of Christians, Jews, Muslims, and others who have come together to provide friendship, practical assistance, and financial support for these families. Along the way they have become an extended family, supporting and learning from one another.

The organization is currently responding to the needs of Afghan refugees who arrived in the United States and are living on military bases. They are working with resettlement agencies to place a family with them and have assembled teams to meet the family’s immediate needs.
