Meet the Author: No Fit: My 1700-mile Walk From Apartheid

  • Yardley Friends Meeting 65 N Main Street Yardley, PA 19067 United States (map)

Yardley Friends invite you to meet Dr. Nico de Klerk, author of the upcoming book No Fit: My 1700-mile Walk From Apartheid, on Friday, July 22nd at 7:00 pm at the Yardley Friends Meetinghouse at 65 N Main Street, Yardley, PA.

Dr. de Klerk, a South African, spent four and a half months walking from Pretoria to Cape Town, talking with youth and the unemployed in 100 black communities along the route. He confirmed that while the legacy of apartheid is still crushing, the people are full of dreams and potential. The book takes the reader on Nico’s fascinating journey, which the Life Learning Academia chose as the best entrepreneurial project globally for 2018. Inspired by his findings, Nico created the “Be a Nelson” program for youth and informal leaders, to motivate social entrepreneurship.

Dr. de Klerk will be interviewed by Yvette Taylor-Hachoose, Esq., host of the “What’s Your Legacy?” podcast series, and Nancy Schongalla, founder of Adopt a South African Preschool, the event sponsor.

There will be dessert, music and fun!

Hope to see you there!
