Bucks Quarter Friends will gather virtually under the care of Yardley Friends Meeting on Sunday, November 21. The day will begin at 10 am with the program: Pamela Boyce Simms will give a talk about partnering with the African Diaspora Earthcare Coalition to directly impact distressed communities of color in Pennsylvania. She will introduce us to the network of (f)Friends who are already doing this work as they constructively anticipate a post-carbon, climate-changed future. She will explain how we can make an impact enhancing selfcare sovereignty via medicinal herb cultivation on meetinghouse grounds. Access her PDF presentation by clicking here.
The African Diaspora Earthcare Coalition is an organization that works to raise public awareness within the African Diaspora to encourage people of African descent to work toward food sovereignty and access to water as climate change accelerates, as well as build, inform, and prepare diaspora networks for concerted action around food production and water access.
Pamela Boyce Simms is a Leadership Coach and Consultant who convenes the Mid-Atlantic Transition Hub (MATH), a six-state network of environmental activists working throughout the Mid-Atlantic coastal megacity corridor. She assists environmental initiatives, organizations and businesses with group dynamics, change and stress management, conflict resolution, organizational development, and governance challenges. She seeks to cultivate a felt sense of interconnectedness that can see communities through the climactic, social, and economic challenges ahead.
Pamela holds a BSFS, from Georgetown University's Edmund Walsh School of Foreign Service, a Matrise de Lettres (MA) de L’Université de Dakar, Senegal, West Africa, is a Certified NLP Master Practitioner, Karma Kagyu Meditation Instructor, and Transition Trainer for Transition US.
The program will be followed by worship, lunchtime fellowship in break out rooms, then Meeting for Worship with Attention to Business. Click here to access supporting documents for meeting for business.
