How does Quaker understanding inform our choices? How do the
Testimonies bring meaning to our actions? How does our spiritual understanding
rise up to inform our lives? In this 5 week session you will explore how
Quakerism moves from history and belief into the real and daily movement of our
days. The group will discuss the Testimonies, business practices, personal
leadings, and other topics relevant to the group's experiences. Gretchen
Castle, a trainer and facilitator for 15 years and Clerk of Doylestown Meeting,
will lead the group in participatory reflection and discussion. There will be
some reading and reflection between sessions with an effort to balance serious
religious thought with good-hearted humor. Quakerism classes at Doylestown
Meeting will be from Oct 22 thru Nov 19, at 7 PM. The cost is $30. Make your
check payable to Bucks Quarterly Meeting and send it to Sandy Langhart, Box
4477 George School, Newtown, PA 18940.
Chandler Hall Hospice is offering a five week hospice
volunteer training program beginning Oct 2nd, from 6:30-9 pm every Monday and

faced with terminal illness as well as their families. The content of the
program includes the hospice concept, family dynamics, sympton control,
interdisciplinary team functions, and bereavement. Volunteers are the backbone
of the program assisting patients with errands, visits, recreational pursuits,
personal care, and chores. Call 860-4000-1410.
Does your Meeting want to grow? The Bucks Quarterly Meeting

Bring your ideas and questions. Refreshments will be served. The program will
be held at Wrightstown Meeting's social room on October 6 at 7:30 pm.
Falls Meeting Friends plan to give the Kits to children who
must take long bus rides (sometimes as long as five hours!) in order to visit
their mothers in prison. The kits will contain pens, pencils, color crayons, an
activity book and a book to read. Friends in the Meeting will donate their
teddy bears & other tiny stuffed animals. Susan Snipes-Wells will take the
children shopping for materials, and the children will help by putting the kits
together. Call Marge Schier at 945-7061 for more information.

Special thanks go to Southampton
Friends for a wonderful two-day event at Camp Onas in August. Friends young and

Friends thank the many people in the Quarter who helped in so many ways.
